— Excerpts from the Fairfax County Times: "Local woman slims down with Let's Dish!"
By: Alexandra Greeley
"Food, food everywhere, and not a bite to eat. So what's a dieter to do? When other weight-loss plans fail, head to Let's Dish! in Ashburn (and other locations) and prepare controlled-portion meals that the whole family enjoys.
That's the solution that herndon resident Melissa Hancock finds works for her. After all, eating the Let's Dish! way and watching her intake plus regular exercise has helped her trim down an amazing 40-plus pounds. "I have only 20 more to go," she said proudly."
-
"So Hancock looked for ways to count her calories, yet feed the family at the same time. She noted that she has tried using diet shakes, following low-carb plans, and at least one major weight-loss program, but she disliked the prepacked frozen foods, which often contained ingredients, such as peppers and onions, she ended up picking out.
Then she turned to Let's Dish!. 'With Let's Dish!m I can make a meal, and if I don't like onions or peppers, I don't need to put them in," she said. 'And if I'm really craving a fast-food hamburger, Let's Dish! has calorie counts, so I can get a kid-sized burger and enjoy it. And if i need a cheeseburger fix, I can do that. That is satisfying through I wouldn't do it every day.'
What clinched it for her was the ease of controlling calorie intake. 'It was really hard to get recipes out of a cookbook and figure out the calories of each ingredient,' she said. 'At Let's Dish! you find approximate calorie counts on their website, so that gives you a general idea of what you are eating. That was a good solution for me.'
This plan works well for the family, explained Hancock, who heads to the Let's Dish! store once a month, where she can select four, eight, or twelve meals each with six servings from among their [monthly] menu selections.
'I can make 72 meals in 2 hours, just like a caterer,' she said, enough to last her family for the month. No shopping, no prepping, no muss, and very little fuss."
