Let's Dish! Expands Pink Dish! Campaign

Breast Cancer Awareness and Assistance Program Aims to Help More Families

Baltimore, MD (Wednesday, October 01, 2008) — Let’s Dish!, the region’s leading meal assembly company, has announced plans to expand its Pink Dish! Campaign, a breast cancer awareness and assistance program, in 2008. Last year, the company donated hundreds of pre-assembled and easy-to-cook dinners to families touched by breast cancer. The expanded program promises even more free meals (including “Let’s Dish! For a Year” to one deserving family), further breast cancer awareness education for the company’s extensive, mostly-female customer base, as well as the opportunity to honor survivors with a special “e-Dedication;” this new feature will offer complimentary sweet treats as an incentive for customers to spread the word about early cancer detection.

“Pink Dish! is a natural extension of the Let’s Dish! brand promise -- making it easier for families to come together around a healthy, home-cooked meal,” said company co-owner Lisa Hardiman, who was diagnosed with Stage II breast cancer last year and has recently completed her treatment. “When you’re fighting cancer, all of life’s little challenges get tougher – and that includes getting dinner on the table. The Pink Dish! Campaign helps families rise to meet those challenges.”

The newly updated Pink Dish! website (www.letsdish.com/pinkdish) encourages visitors to share stories of friends who are breast cancer survivors. Families whose stories appear on the site are automatically nominated and may be selected to receive Let’s Dish! meals delivered to their home free of charge. Up to 50 local families will receive 4 free family-sized meals, funded entirely by donations and purchases made at the area’s 5 Let’s Dish! locations. And one deserving family will be selected to win a free Let’s Dish! session every month for an entire year.

“One in eight women will get breast cancer in her lifetime,” said Alexa Corcoran, Hardiman’s business partner and long-time friend. “All of us know someone who has fought the disease, and many of us have struggled to find a way to help. Pink Dish! is a great way for people to help ‘survivors’ and their families”

While on the Pink Dish! site, consumers may also create an e-Dedication card in honor of a friend affected by breast cancer. The card, which will include a message about early detection, can be easily forwarded via the Internet. When brought into any area Let’s Dish!, it entitles the bearer to a free Pink Dish! treat, and can also be placed on the store’s “Dedication Wall”, celebrating those who have battled the disease.

Many of last year’s Pink Dish! honorees are helping to spread the word again this year. “My mother-in-law wanted to express her sincere gratitude to all of those who made this happen,” said Nancy Rowles, daughter-in-law of a 2007 honoree. “These meals are helping her rest so that she can get better. Her husband is so grateful too. He even said that now Mom won't have to eat the food he cooks (which is a good thing). We’re so glad the campaign is continuing.”

Survivor stories and e-Dedications will be accepted starting September 25th on the Pink Dish! website. Complementing the online program, Let’s Dish! will have a special in-store menu in October, featuring heart-healthy and antioxidant-rich selections. The stores will also “go pink”, with decorations, information and “pink” products to support the Pink Dish! Campaign.
